With the latest MacBook from Apple, the loss of ports continues apace.
Fortunately, the Thunderbolt port available has some 40Gb/s throughput, which means you can hang a lot of stuff off it.
This new adapter from OWC even includes Firewire, so I could attach my Firewire<-> SCSI and still use my old (huge) flatbed UMAX SCSI scanner via the excellent Vuescan software.

The Thunderbolt 3 Dock uses Thunderbolt 3 technology to give a 40Gb/s throughput.
This allows for the 13 ports. With a single Thunderbolt 3 cable, you can charge mobile devices, connect multiple 4K displays, external storage, transfer from SD cards, connect via Gigabit Ethernet, plug in audio accessories and power the 2016 MacBook Pro.
The available connections:
- 2 x Thunderbolt 3
- Two USB-C ports
- Daisy chain and power up to 5 Thunderbolt 3 devices
- 5x USB 3.1 Gen 1
- Including two high-power USB Type-A ports for fast mobile device charging
- FireWire 800
- Gigabit Ethernet
- mini DisplayPort
- SD Card reader
- Easily transfer photos and video from an SD card
- Audio combo port
- For headphones or microphones
- S/PDIF digital audio

Keith explains tilt and shift lenses
Keith has written a book that looks at the many ways that tilt/shift lenses can benefit your photography from a technical and creative point of view. If not in the UK check for import issues and maybe try an on-line bookshop. Keith has no connection with sales of the book.
