Using the light

Once charged, switch on and adjust brightness and temperature as needed.

The [detachable] cold show adapter lets you mount it on a camera if desired.

Even light? Accurate light?

By taking some photos and increasing the contrast when processing the raw files [Canon R5 and Photoshop ACR] it’s possible to see any uneven distribution of lighting. These examples are taken at ~50% output.

It’s important to note that any variations you see here were not visually noticeable.

Also by white balancing the centre of the panel image in processing, you can see that the stated ‘temperatures’ are for guidance [and matching similar panels] only

All in all, a very creditable performance, for an economically priced device.

If you need to match colours and light sources, take care relying on the values given by displays – this goes for any light source I’ve ever tested with such indications.

For accuracy, use a good grey card for accurately determining the characteristics of any lighting used, and consider custom DNG files, as shown in the video.
