Video: Tilt/shift lenses and diagonal lens tilt
Diagonal lens tilt – setting the camera plane of focus to match an arbitrary plane with a tilt/shift lens
The camera plane of focus can be tilted using a tilt/shift lens, but matching the plane to an arbitrary subject plane of interest needs a combination of vertical tile and horizontal tilt (swing) at the same time.
Keith shows a method of setting the lens tilt axis to the position required to match a given plane in space. Using a simple test chart to illustrate where the axis of sharpness lies let you set the lens tilt axis to match.
