We’re one of the UK’s few specialist photography training providers that will come to your location and customise courses to your requirements and needs.
Keith Cooper, our trainer and senior photographer, spent several years at Loughborough University as a lecturer, possesses a Certificate in C&G Adult Education and is a YouTube content creator.

All prices are for single sessions, please also see our Terms and Conditions for training services.
Precise course costs are based on duration, location and number of people attending the course.
A half day is up to 3.5 hrs of training time, a full day up to 6.5 hrs.
Hotels and expenses (if required) are charged at cost.
For interactive photography training sessions we recommend a maximum of 4 trainees. For larger numbers we recommend seminar style presentations.
Our training courses are held at your own preferred location, where you will be taking your own photographs
Expenses: £0.69 per mile for all courses outside of Leicestershire PLUS £30 per hour travel expenses for all courses more than 2 hours from our base in Leicester. We charge nothing for the first 2 hours (in each direction) then £30 per hour, rounded up to a full hour.

Photography lectures / seminars / workshops / conferences
As well delivering bespoke photography training to small groups of trainees, Keith regularly delivers photography related workshops, lectures, talks and seminars to larger groups in industry, at conferences or trade events.
Rates for lectures and seminars are based on the same half/full day, travel and mileage rates quoted above and usually do not attract a ‘per delegate’ charge.
For local camera clubs and societies, Keith offers a limited number of ‘expenses only’ talks each year.
Photographic equipment buying advice
Keith is happy to offer independent advice relating to what equipment – cameras, lenses, software or lighting – will suit your business needs.
Northlight Images does not sell cameras or photographic equipment, so our only interest is helping you invest in the equipment that will let you do what you need to do.

Learn to use your camera
The photo at the top of the page was taken at one of our series of training sessions for a property services company.
The (new) cameras had just been given out to everyone (14 people), and the group was taking a break, after spending half an hour familiarising themselves with the basics of using a DSLR camera.
Specialised photographic equipment training
We’re happy to organise courses covering any of the specialist photographic equipment we use here at Northlight.
One example would be how to utilise devices such as the GigaPan mount shown below, along with specialist software, such as Autopano Giga.
Keith has written an article, showing just how he used this kit to make the recently exhibited 14 metre print of Leicester city centre at dusk.

Keith Cooper also takes part in commercial and landscape photography training for course organisers and training locations around the UK and abroad.
We work throughout the UK and speak at international seminars and conferences.
Keith also teaches specialist aspects of photography, such as landscape, digital black and white, and fine art printing to individuals and companies or as part of other organisations’ courses.
