Print quality testing using a colour test image. Test ICC profiles and new papers on your printer
Keith Cooper looks at print evaluation using a known good test image. The test print has parts for testing many different aspects of print quality, and can even show problems with monitor setup as well.
The image can be downloaded in various forms and sizes from the Northlight Images site, where there are detailed descriptions of the purpose and use for all the different sections.
The image is designed to show common errors and faults in printing and profiles. It’s been recently used for reviews of the Epson XP-15000, ET-8550, P700 and P900 along with the Canon PRO-300 and PRO-200.
