With exhibitions talks and seminars, the Moorsview 2017 event takes place in Pickering over the weekend from Friday 8th to Sunday the 10th September 2017.

It’s a great part of the UK to visit, and I spent a few days in the area last year. It includes Staithes, where I took the photos used in my ‘Making a large black and white panoramic print’ tutorial

North York Moors Photography

Photographers are gathering at Pickering for Moorsview 2017 – a celebration of the North York Moors and Coast and the opportunities they offer for outdoor photography. Renowned local photographers are donating their time and expertise to deliver practical talks about landscape and wildlife photography in the region, and raising money for local causes in the process.

The stellar line-up of speakers includes:
Joe Cornish – Peter Leeming – Lucy Saggers – Steve Race – Robert Fuller – Karl Holtby

“Moorsview 2017 builds on the success of our previous event, turning a day of talks into a true festival of practical photography for Pickering and the North York Moors. Less frequented than the Northern meccas of The Peak District, Lakes, and Yorkshire Dales, the North York Moors offer a rich variety of landscape and wildlife opportunities. From the expansive open views on the high moors, to the intimate patchworks of a succession of verdant dales, this is a landscape of contrasts shaped by a long history of human habitation.” – John Clifton of PC Photographic

Moorsview Extras and Exhibitions

The main Moorsview Seminar takes place on Saturday, but speakers and supporters are also offering a range of optional Moorsview Extras over the weekend from Friday 8th to Sunday the 10th September. These include practical workshops, photowalks and open gallery events – you can find details, along with booking information at www.trailblazeroutdoors.co.uk/pages/moorsview.

A touring exhibition will also support Moorsview 2017 – opening first at the Joe Cornish Galleries in Northallerton on Saturday 12th August.

The exhibition moves to The Pickering Gallery for the weekend of the Moorsview seminar, before opening at the Inspired by Gallery at the North York Moors National Park Visitor Centre, at Danby on 19th October.

Keith explains tilt and shift lenses

Keith has written a book that looks at the many ways that tilt/shift lenses can benefit your photography from a technical and creative point of view. If not in the UK check for import issues and maybe try an on-line bookshop. Keith has no connection with sales of the book.
