Photography training and teaching

Digital Photography Courses, seminars and lectures

photgraphy seminarCommercial photography courses from Northlight Images can cover a very wide range of material at whatever level of complexity you want.

Our commercial photography training is carried out at your choice of location - anywhere you like.

We work throughout the UK and speak at international seminars and conferences.

Keith Cooper also teaches specialist aspects of photography, such as landscape, digital black and white, and fine art printing, as parts of other companies' courses. As a qualified adult tutor (City and Guilds 7307) and university lecturer he appreciates the varying needs of learners.

Northlight provides bespoke one-to-one training for companies, covering photography and all aspects of digital image manipulation at their own office locations worldwide.

Many corporate clients want to take their own photographs for internal and web use.

Several on-line versions of Keith's photography courses are available on this site. They are free to use for personal and non commercial use.

An example from his introductory digital photography course covers Basic Image manipulation with Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.

If you already have basic skills in Photoshop, then the whole of the course is available in two half day one-to-one workshops (using Photoshop or Elements).

Say, for example, you have some film photography knowledge and want to learn more about using your skills in a digital environment? A typical day's course might include:

Over time we hope to add more free on-line tutorials based on many of Keith's courses.

Digital imaging Lectures / Presentations / Seminars

Keith provides lecturing and seminar services for commercial organisations.

Seminars are customised to meet your organisation's needs and can cover topics as diverse as:

There are more details on our Digital Imaging training page.

Our services include specialist colour management advice and training.

Keith is also available to speak at Photographic clubs and societies. Particularly popular are his discussions on digital black and white photography and demonstrations of colour management, where he illustrates some the benefits of monitor and printer profiling with examples from his Spyder3Pro review and i1 iO review. There is more info on the Lectures/Presentations page.

Keith often gets asked what cameras to buy -- it's a tricky question with so many now on the market, but he has put together a short guide that may be of help in deciding what you want to know.

How much does all this cost?

Precise course/seminar costs are based on duration, location* and number of people attending the course.

Typical prices for a full day of training

For specific photography training we always suggest numbers are best kept to 2-3 at most, to maximise interactive involvement.

Lectures and conference presentation rates depend on length of session and location.

* An additional charge for travel expenses (and any overnight stay) may apply to courses outside of Leicestershire.

Please note - we provide training for companies at your chosen location, however we are unable to provide training services here at our Leicester office.

Course organisers and venues - please contact us directly to discuss your requirements and how we can work together.
