Some time ago I tried out DxO’s FilmPack software and found it worked well, with a few minor issues.
Well, DxO have released an all new 64 bit version that works in stand-alone mode or as a plugin for Photoshop/Lightroom/Aperture/Elements.
Great ‘film look’ renderings and very nice looking film grain really do make images look as if they were shot on a particular type of film.
This example shows the Kodachrome 25 ‘look’ – something no longer available for real.

One other use I’ve found for the B&W film types was to create grain for repairing damaged print scans. Keeping any image grain looking OK makes a big difference if you are doing much editing of film scans.
A useful bit of software, not just for film fans.
