Docks redevelopment in Ipswich, Suffolk.
The regeneration and development of the area around the docks is a mix of new build and conversions from what was a working dock, only a few years ago.
Photographs come with all our expertise in colour management and high quality print reproduction.
A number of our large architectural images have been used as prints for commercial locations.
Exhibition quality prints
We are happy to quote for producing high quality prints of our work in colour or black and white.
Whether for new build offices, or in this example, the converted 'Pex' building for the UK Land Registry in Leicester.
Our prints can make a striking addition to any foyer, lobby or boardroom.
There are full details for our commercial print service elsewhere on the site.
All our work is available printed on archival cotton rag paper with pigment inks for presentations and promotional use. (200 year min. lifetime estimate for black and white on archival papers).
As specialist commercial photographers, we work closely with architects, project management, contractors and agencies to ensure our images are always supplied to meet your needs, whether for web or print use.
UK Wide photography
Our architectural and construction work covers the entire UK.
We are based in Leicester and have worked from Cornwall to Scotland.
In the East and West Midlands we can often provide our architectural photography services at very short notice.
We are happy to schedule work over an extended period where construction timetables are weather dependent.
Many of our clients are sub-contractors, wanting images of specific work or products, for brochures and publicity material.
The viaduct photo was produced for the local landowner, and is exhibited at their nearby business centre.
Construction progress/publicity at the new stand at Leicester Tiger's Rugby ground.
We were involved in this project from the initial site preparation and concrete works.
Natural lighting for interior architectural studies
We like to use natural lighting whenever possible.
All the examples on this page use available light - an important consideration when working on an active construction site.
For some black and white examples, have a look at our venue photography page. The shots were taken with no additional lighting, at 11:30pm for a local bar, to promote their jazz club.
All the examples were produced as ~26"x17" prints for decorative use.
When do you need your photos?
We can sometimes fit in location work at only a few days notice.
This is particularly so in the Leicestershire and the UK East Midlands region.
Our area of work covers the entire UK.
Construction schedules can change, so our aim is to accommodate your requirements and provide construction photography that fits in with your plans.
Your photographs are supplied in digital formats to suit your requirements, typically 'print ready' at 300dpi and whatever size you need, in either TIFF, JPEG or Photoshop PSD formats.
Your architectural images can be incorporated in CD based 'web galleries' and we can quote for any additional image enhancement, perspective correction or processing work that you may require.
Let us know if you need high resolution imaging for producing display prints.
If you need matched sets of images for animation, then we can ensure alignment issues are addressed.
Technical issues
We can provide images in a variety of geometric projections for different uses and can help with image correction and processing advice if required.
The very wide angles covered in some of the interior pictures on this page are difficult to achieve without awkward distortion.
We can supply an image in several different projections so as to best meet your needs.
Northlight Images has a wide range of specialist digital architectural photographic equipment.
For the highest quality images we believe, wherever possible, in capturing the right image in the camera to start with, not just 'fixing' things in Photoshop afterwards.
