Comments from our clients
"I had a fantastic day with Keith on the bespoke architectural photography training course. He demystified the technical aspects of architectural photography and was hugely generous and down to earth in sharing his experience and knowledge. I would gladly recommend Northlight Images."Julie Crawford,
"We were very impressed with our training session. In one day we learnt enough to drastically improve our product images and help us maintain a professional reputation. We are very happy customers."Ellis Clarke Trains
"I enjoyed Keith's introduction to photography. While it was accessible to complete novices, I also found lots of useful hints and tips as someone who does a small amount of professional photography and is seeking to expand my portfolio. I would recommend Northlight Images for no fuss photography training solutions to suit a range of skill levels."Laura Hadland - Thirst Media
"The team really enjoyed the training, and we all feel that we have learnt some essential tips to improve our pictures, at the very least learning to evaluate our photos on site and thinking about the story that they are telling. The format of the training worked well - with a bit of theory in the morning and practice in the afternoon. The information wasn’t too overwhelmingly technical and was pitched just right for our requirements. I would be happy to recommend the training to other sales teams."Nottingham Community Housing Assoc.

Photographic equipment buying advice
Keith is happy to offer independent advice relating to what equipment will suit your business needs, whether cameras, lenses or lighting.
Northlight Images does not sell cameras or photographic equipment, so our only interest is whether the equipment will let you do what you want.
In the past we’ve saved clients many hundreds of pounds from not buying equipment they just didn’t need…
Bespoke photography course content
One of the difficulties we have in explaining what we can teach, is that there is just so much you can choose from.
Our courses can be tailored to be as general or as specific as you need.
Say, for example, you have some film photography knowledge and want to learn more about using your skills in a digital environment? A typical day’s course might include:
- Understanding the relationship between image size and resolution
- Considering bit depth
- What is colour?
- Organising your images
- Shooting RAW or JPEG
- sRGB versus Adobe RGB
- Camera RAW workflows
- Optimising images
- Automating routine tasks
Learn to use your camera
The photo above was taken at one of our series of training sessions for a property services company.
The (new) cameras had just been given out to everyone (14 people), and the group was taking a break, after spending half an hour familiarising themselves with the basics of using a DSLR camera.
Specialised photographic equipment training
We’re happy to organise courses covering any of the specialist photographic equipment we use here at Northlight.
One example would be how to utilise devices such as the GigaPan mount shown below, along with specialist software, such as Autopano Giga.
Keith has written an article, showing just how he used this kit to make the recently exhibited 14 metre print of Leicester city centre at dusk.
Keith’s equipment choices
If you’re curious about the sorts of photographic equipment Keith uses, then we’ve a page describing a lot of it. Many of the items have articles and reviews associated with them, part of our commitment to helping others get the best from their photography.
